Athletes, coaches, staff, journalists, professionals and institutions access the Universiade Napoli 2019 with accreditations provided with an anticounterfeiting code, BLUeCODE, conceived and produced by Bluenet, a young Neapolitan start-up. FISU and Regione Campania choose this technologic system for its security characteristics and its compliance with the operational requirements of the second multi-sports event in the world. The code assures the correspondence between the owner of the accreditation card and the user: scanning the code on the accreditation card, the picture of the owner is immediately detected, along with other information and the potential permit to access the event. The code has been already used in other fields of application – digital stamp, security seal, business events – and it has been widely tested with Serie A football teams. Even if the information on the accreditation card is falsified, the scan will show the original data of the accreditation code. Therefore, any attempt of fraud will be immediately identified and prevented. Bluenet is the supplier of all the accreditation system for the Universiade 2019 and has produced more than 120 thousand pass and accreditation cards. “We think technology is able to introduce important innovation in the field of ticketing and access control. Without any need of internet connection and without the necessity of collecting personal data in a dedicated database, safe controls are carried out on any individual entering the venues, in full compliance with privacy”, explains CEO Nicola Fedele. “The added value of Bluenet – underlines Marcello Galloni, head of Accreditation for Napoli 2019 – mostly lies in the speed and the quality of the production of all access devices, pre-printed cards or accreditation cards, and the addition of this security system, Blue Code, which contains information like photographs, personal data, accreditation status, key elements for a sports event like the Universiade”. “The advantage in using Blue Code – said the head of Technology of Napoli 2019 – is the independent encrypted code, which allows to always have the original accreditation data, even if one single parameter on the accreditation card has changed, preventing any risk of system counterfeiting. It is an all-around innovation – he continued – with high speed decryption of information, through small devices (smartphone or iPod). The important thing is that the final product is not a printable chip but has all the advantages of a chip”.
