One hundred thousand tickets sold, not to mention the thousands of Promo Cards distributed in schools and sports associations. After only four days of competitions, the assessment regarding public’s attendance at the venues during the 30th Summer Universiade Napoli 2019 is absolutely positive. This information, provided by the ticketing office of the Organizing Committee, has to be read analytically. And even if the first football matches, waiting for direct elimination phase, were not so popular according to the number of spectators at the stadium, swimming, thanks to the charm of Scandone swimming pool, registered record attendance. More than 8 thousand tickets sold until now, with many spectators from Naples and Campania, but also a considerable audience from the rest of Italy. Sold out is expected until Wednesday – closing day for swimming competitions.
Speaking of water sports, public’s attendance at the swimming pool of Mostra d’Oltremare is quite surprising. Thanks to the restyling of the springboard, Naples has discovered the beauty and the elegance of divers: almost 4 thousand tickets sold. The number of spectators for water polo at the sports venues of Caserta and Casoria is increasing as well (4 thousand tickets sold), and it is probably expected to grow with the approaching of direct matches. The assessment regarding basketball audience is positive too, despite the uncertainty of Italy’s future in the tournament, with 12 thousand spectators distributed among the four dedicated venues. The numbers registered for Palavesuvio, completely restored after renovation works, are surprising as well. Artistic Gymnastics has been followed by an average of 1500 spectators per day (even in that case the Promo Cards granting free access are not counted), a number destined to increase when the “Butterflies” of the Italian team will make their entrance in the competition and Rhythmic Gymnastics will start. Fencing numbers are satisfying as well: The Palaunisa in Fisciano, which has become a real stronghold for Italian supporters, has already sold 2000 tickets
