Ravello Festival presents the show “Sacré”, an artistic project performed by the Russian, but naturalised Ukraine, child prodigy Sergei Polunin, which will take place on Friday, July 12th (9:30 pm). This event is included in the cultural program of the 30th Summer Universiade Napoli2019, with the support of the private partner “Eccellenze Campane” (Excellences from Campania region).
The show is composed by two acts: the first, “Fraudulent Smile”, is created by Ross Freddie Ray and features nine dancers on the stage, including Polunin, on the notes of the Polish trio Klezmer Kroke. The second act is danced individually by Polunin on Stravinsky’s “The Rite of Spring”. The choreography of the solo is designed by the Japanese dancer Yuka Oishi, from John Neumeier’s Hamburg Ballet, who also cooperated with Natalia Osipova’s current projects performed in London and produced by Sadler’s Wells.
“Ravello Festival is known all around the world- said Polulin – and being here is a dream come true! I had already been invited last year but, for my great displeasure, I could not attend the event. Nevertheless, we kept in touch so that I could continue dreaming about Ravello’s stage on the sea… and now that it has become true, I am grateful to the organisers I collaborated with in the past and the ones I am working with today, who joined their forces in order to make this dream come true. Campania region is really wonderful: natural beauties, archeologic sites, food, people, everything here is special and I hope there will be other projects in the future!”
The event is a co-production between “Fondazione Ravello” and “Fondazione Campania dei Festival” organised in collaboration with “ATER – Associazione Teatrale Emilia Romagna”. www.ravellofestival.com. For further details, please contact 089 858 422 – [email protected].
