It will be remembered as the edition of records: the Universiade has never reached such huge numbers in the past, starting with the total of athletes and delegations involved, at least in Italy. Among the numerous records of the 30th Summer Universiade, including Italy’s medal count (44), Napoli 2019 has to be proud of the numbers related to logistics, transports and meals provided to the athletes. During the two weeks of competitions, 600.000 liters of water have been distributed, along with 300 kg of fresh fruits, almost a ton of isotonic drinks, 500 kg of ice. Athletes and delegations have been embraced, supported, and satisfied in every request in the venues/villages located in Naples, Caserta, Fisciano and Salerno. The Organisation provided 180 thousand meals through a widespread and meticulous “home” delivery service, for the most part directly inside the venues. 200 buses and 400 cars have been made available for the teams, and 500 taxis have been used. The complexity of this particular multi-sports event is also underlined by the numbers related to medical services. All the local health authorities of Campania have been involved in the operational plan, with a total of 450 first aid interventions in their hospital units. The majority of these interventions concerned bone and muscular trauma, but also heat-related pathologies and gastrointestinal illness. More than 40 x-rays have been performed. Only one code red emergency for a heatstroke, and which regarded and Algerian athlete urgently hospitalized at the Cardarelli hospital and currently out of danger. 110 thousand condoms have been distributed, 10 thousand towels, 650 footballs, 250 basketballs and volleyballs, 120 rugby balls.
