The second CTI visit of FISU, arranged by the Organizing Committee in preparation of Napoli2019, has been concluded. Broad approval from the 27 National and International sport delegates (sent by Italian Sport Federations and FISU) who, during the week, valuated renovation projects and visited venues for volleyball, swimming (pool and open water), archery, judo,  water polo, football, sailing, tennis, artistic and rhythmic gymnastics.

We are well advanced and optimistic – CTI Chair Jean Paul Clémençon said – we visited about 50 venues, a real treasure for Napoli and Campania, demonstrating the great sport desire of the region. Certainly, there are some venues renovations to realize, such as in PalaVesuvio, but these are ordinary actions and we were reassured about the timing. All the Campania venues are suitable to host the competitions of such an important and complex event as Universiade, that needs a great synchronization between all  the functional areas. From this point of view, the arrival of Commissioner Latella has been important thanks to the great work done till now. From the first visit in Naples, we have cooperated to start a long path together and we are sure that we will get it”.

The next CTI is scheduled from 6th to 10th May in Naples, when the Organizing Committee and International FISU delegates will conclude venue visits of the further sports (shooting sports, basketball, diving, fencing, table tennis, rugby, taekewondo, athletics), and they will analyze work progress.

“We are confident – Special Commissioner Luisa Latella said – the Government commitment proves the importance of the event not only for Campania, but also for the whole Nation. We are working intensively, in synergy with CUSI, CONI, ANAC, Campania Region and Napoli municipality”.

After the technical meetings, the CTI visited also Galleria Borbonica in Via Chiatamone, admiring one the most important Neapolitan and Campania beauties that will make Universiade 2019 an unique event.

So, not only sport but also a prestigious international showcase to promote the brand of “Campania”, to discover the touristic and cultural excellences of the region, and to train young apprentices from the Universities of Campania.
