The performer auditions for the 30th Summer Universiade Opening Ceremony continue in view of the sporting event scheduled for July 3rd at San Paolo Stadium in Naples. The ceremony, produced by Balich Worldwide Shows, will boast the participation of 1,500 performers including sports enthusiasts, modern, contemporary and folk dancers, arts and music lovers. “This weekend – says Casting Director Lorenzo Gentile – we have auditioned about 250-300 aspiring performers: We enroll them, we take costume measurements and then we teach them a basic routine so that we could find the right stage position for each one of them. It is not necessary to be athletes or dancers. Desire to participate and great enthusiasm are the only requirements to get ready for a mass choreography in front of 60,000 people. It will be a very exciting experience for everyone. The ceremony will tell the story of Naples and welcome athletes in this great experience called Universiade”. Choreographer Laura Guglielmetto adds: “We are looking for different personalities. The energy and the desire to be there are the main ingredients that are needed to be selected”. Luana, 25, from Pozzuoli, is one of the candidates: “The Universiade is a great opportunity for Naples and also for us. We are all excited”. Martino, 24, from Naples, adds: “I’m a dancer and as soon as I learned about this opportunity, I decided to apply together with my sister. It is a pleasure to be here and I hope to be among the 1,500 performers on July 3rd at San Paolo Stadium”.
