Winners Italia srl is the company that won the call for tenders to create and supply all the medals of the 30thUniversiade Napoli 2019. 222 will be the total number of the medals up for grabs for the approximately 8,000 athletes competing in the 18 sports disciplines during the event scheduled for July.
Since the first edition in 1959, 13,217 medals have been awarded. Unites States is still the most successful country in the history of the University Games with a total of 1,302 medals. In second and third place we find, respectively, Russia and Japan with 1,140 and 1,047 (gold, silver and bronz medals). The situation is different for the medal collection that combines the Summer and Winter Universiade editions: First place goes to Russia with 1,602 podiums, followed by the United States with 1,442 athletes awarded.
