The Organizing Committee of the Summer Universiade 2019 will join the 6th edition of the Napoli City Half Marathon with its own booth, where visitors will find gadgets and informative material. The Napoli 2019 Extraordinary Commissioner Gianluca Basile will be there on Sunday at 10.30 a.m. to reward the runners. The race will start from Viale Kennedy at 9 a.m. and will end in Piazzale Colombo (Mostra d’Oltremare). 16 of the top world 150 athletes are expected among the 7,000 participants coming from more than 40 Countries. The event, which has grown a lot over the years, is going to be part of a city context particularly favorable for sport, where the Universiade will play a prevalent role. In fact, 10,000 university athletes from 120 countries will participate in a multidisciplinary competition, second only to the Olympics. It will be a great opportunity for the entire territory to show itself to the international scenario as one of the world’s most popular tourist attractions. The program of the Napoli Half Marathon starts today with the presentation of the race and the course. Moreover, on Saturday there will be the presentation of the Élite Athletes, plus conventions, live performances, shows and food courts. It will be a weekend entirely dedicated to sports before the big event in July.
