The appointment with “Run against violence” is back in town. The marathon is organized by Associazione A.R.T.U.R., created after a 17-yearold boy had been stabbed in December 2017.
The marathon will take place on June 9th at 9.30 a.m. with start and finish line in Piazza Plebiscito and the Universiade will provide race packs as partner in this initiative. Also Calcio Napoli will join the event distributing winners autographed T-shirt and gadgets.
The aim of the event is to raise funds for two victims of violence: Manuel Bortuzzo, a swimmer who lost the use of his legs in an ambush due to a case of mistaken identity, and Noemi, seriously injured by a Camorra shooting in Piazza Nazionale in Naples.
The event is supported by Miur, Regione Campania, Comune di Napoli, Università Parthenope, CONI and Corecom. Extraordinary Commissioner of the Universiade Gianluca Basile, Regional Councilor for Equal Opportunities Chiara Marciani and Municipal Councillor for Youth Policy Alessandra Clemente will take part in the event together with the police and Questura di Napoli.
The athletes of Gruppo Sportivo Fiamme Oro will be present in addition to Patrizio Oliva, Davide Tizzano, Pino Maddaloni, Franco Porzio, Antonella Santucci, Maurizio De Giovanni and Ernesto Mahieux.
